Dimension in Art Quilts
In this course, we will analyze eight aspects that make a two-dimensional photo appear to be three-dimensional and then apply them in class to a small art quilt. But wait...there are two additional techniques that we, as quilters, can use that other art forms cannot.

Explore the art of translating three-dimensional objects into two-dimensional representations through careful observation and analysis. Attendees will learn to identify and utilize value changes, shadows, and perspectives to enhance their designs, particularly in traditional and art quilts. The session will also introduce practical applications, including value studies and software tools like Adobe Photoshop, to help simplify complex visual elements. By the end of the lecture, participants will have a deeper understanding of how to convey depth and dimension in their artistic creations effectively.

In part two of this series, we'll guide you through preparing patterns, selecting the perfect fabrics, and fusing materials to create vibrant designs. By the end of part three of the workshop, you'll have the skills to create a layered trapunto masterpiece that truly pops!
